Anna Grabo is a freelance filmmaker, art educator & curator. She has been a member of the collective cinema B-Movie for 10 years and is responsible for film programs and projection. She currently focuses on analogue techniques and the representation of utopian and dystopian parameters in the moving image. Since 2020 she is part of the performative and participatory radio show >Radiopol<. She is founding member of the interdisciplinary music group P.A.F. which experiments with genres, sounds and noises. Most recently, she co-curated an exhibition on Hamburg's cinema and film history. Anna Grabo grew up in New York and Chemnitz and studied image and film studies in Jena, as well as art theory and film at Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. She has been living in Hamburg since 2013.
During her fellowship, Anna Grabo will be investigting kaleidoscopic narratives and imaginaries between ecological paradise and catastrophes, tracing the representations of climate change in film. The results will be presented in a mobile film program series set at different locations. This work is placed within the current climate and sustainability discourse evocating various invited scientific, activist and artistic perspectives.
We are looking forward to working with you!
