New fellow: Matthias Thiemann

From October 2022 until January 2023 Prof. Matthias Thiemann, PhD, will be a fellow at the Centre. Matthias Thiemann is a sociologist with close affinities to political economy. In his work, he seeks to analyze how financial market regulators seek to shape the behavior of market actors and reshape markets in order to prevent financial instability. In his time at the Centre, he will investigate the engagement of central banks with the theme of climate change and their attempt to steer financial market actors both to incorporate the risks from this phenomenon as well as to contribute to the transition of the economy towards a carbon-neutral mode of production ("green finance").
