We are pleased to announce that the 6th volume of our book series "Futures of Sustainability" has been published by Campus:

Green capitalism promises to get the ecological crisis under control through technical innovations and market-based instruments. However, the results of this promise so far have been sobering: since the concepts of green growth and ecologically oriented markets were developed more than 20 years ago, the destruction of ecosystems has continued unabated and in some cases accelerated. Moreover, green capitalism is failing to create the necessary social conditions for a socio-ecological transformation: While ecological catastrophes shake the world, social inequality is deepening to an unprecedented degree. This volume presents analyses of this failure to date and explores current prospects for ecological modernization. It also looks at alternatives that rely more heavily on democratic planning and social cooperation.
