Book presentation “Kapitalismus am Limit. Öko-imperiale Spannungen, umkämpfte Krisenpolitik und solidarische Perspektiven”
With author Ulrich Brand (University of Vienna)
Comments: Sarah Lenz (Paderborn University), Kohei Saito (University of Tokyo)
Moderation: Frank Adloff (“Futures of Sustainability”, University of Hamburg)
"Ulrich Brand and Markus Wissen subject our present to a critical diagnosis. They trace how capitalism is reaching its limits, pressurised by social and ecological crises, but also by those who no longer want to support the exploitation of people and nature. A variety of struggles will decide the future of humanity, and the outcome is anything but certain. Will the status quo be defended, leading to an increase in authoritarian tendencies? Will a "green capitalism" develop in Europe and what consequences would this have for the rest of the world? Or will we find a fairer, better way of doing business and living?"
