Congratulations! Philipp Degens recieves Professorship in Frankfurt

Philipp Degens followed a call for the professorship for Social Entrepeneurship and Social Economy at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and works there since the first of October 2025.

After his postdoc position at the faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (University of Hamburg) he worked several years at our centre "Futures of Sustainability". Since the end of 2023 he partly substituted the professorship for sociology, particulary Dynamics and Regulations of Economy and Society. He was leader of the Hamburg projects of the BMBF-Verbundprojekt "Teilgabe" that won the German Price for Demography. He also obtained the project "Gutes Schenken" that is trust-financed by GLS and will be headed by Dr. Carla Young.

Philipp Degens is member of the board of the section Law Sociology of the German Society for Sociology and co-organizer of the network "Community, Democracy and Organisations" from the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE). He also is a member in the interdisciplinary DFG-Network "Das Recht im Anthropozän".
