Roderick Condon is a teaching fellow in the Department of Sociology at Trinity College Dublin. He is an interdisciplinary sociologist working in Frankfurt School Critical Theory, political sociology, and environmental sociology. He is the author of "Reconsidering Habermas’s Colonization Thesis: A Critical Theory of Neoliberalism" (Routledge, 2025).
Roderick’s research examines the antagonisms between capitalism, democracy, and nature, and how these tensions shape contemporary social movements. His current research develops two projects: one theorizes the entanglement of ecological and political crisis, analysing competing crisis diagnoses and divergent futures projected by contemporary movements; the other reconsiders the critique of technocracy with a view towards its contemporary reconfiguration emerging at the intersection of Silicon Valley and authoritarian populism.
A warm welcome to the Centre, Roderick!
