Moema Hofstaetter is an associate researcher at the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Societies, Environments and Territories (LISAT) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and an associate researcher at the Wind Energy Observatory of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). At UFRN, she is also a collaborating researcher on the CNPq Universal Project DARQ/UFRN - INCT Labplan: "Territorial planning and management in the face of large renewable energy projects," as well as a collaborator on the INCT Klimapolis. With over 20 years of experience in the interdisciplinary areas of philosophy, sociology, history, and environmental sciences, her trajectory in social and academic institutions encompasses research with participatory methodologies, including urban and regional planning, with an emphasis on participatory planning techniques and projects, particularly in the domains of national policy, rural tourism, family farming, and energy transition. Her research is also committed to advances in critical areas of investigation, including gender relations, traditional populations, society-environment interactions, environmental management, and the promotion of renewable energy strategies and (un)just transitions. In the context of civil society, she advises and conducts research with communities affected by the impacts of renewable energies, using the methodology of social cartography. She is part of the RN nucleus of the Climate Change and Socio-environmental Justice Forum, and is on the advisory team of SAR and the Movement of People Affected by Renewable Energies – MAR.
