We are pleased to announce that the 8th volume of our book series "Futures of Sustainability" has been published by Campus:
"Die Klimamutation. Verhandlungen, Geopolitik, Demokratie"
by Stefan C. Aykut und Amy Dahan
About the book:
Climate change lies at the heart of a global crisis in which ecological, geopolitical, and social tensions reinforce one another. We are not at the beginning of an orderly “transition,” but already in the midst of a conflict-ridden “mutation” that is upending and reshaping the conditions of human existence. Building on this assessment, Stefan Aykut and Amy Dahan analyze global climate negotiations since the Paris Agreement. They shed light on the geopolitical dimension of the climate crisis—from resource conflicts to competing industrial policy strategies. Finally, they turn their attention to Europe, the continent of the Green Deal, where transformation and democracy are increasingly faltering. The volume demonstrates that technical responses to the climate crisis are insufficient. The imperative, then, is to hold together, within a single analytical frame, the ecological and the geopolitical, the social, the democratic and the planetary. This means taking full measure of our new human condition and exploring what a “politics of landing” might look like for those who have, whether they know it or not, already touched down on a deeply transformed Earth.
