The Future of the Seas – Oceans Between Exploitation and Protection
When: Fri, 20.06.2025 12:00 PM until Sun, 22.06.2025 2:00 PM
Where: Jugendherberge, Strandstr. 21, 18439 Stralsund
Oceans cover more than 70% of the Earth's surface and are essential for life on our planet. However, they are increasingly under pressure from overfishing, plastic pollution, resource extraction, and climate change. How can we balance the use of the oceans with their protection? What role do politics, economics, and science play in this challenge?
In this STUBE seminar, we will travel together to Stralsund, a city located right by the Baltic Sea. Here, we will go into the complex relationship between ocean exploitation and conservation. Through engaging presentations, lively discussions, and excursions, we will explore sustainable models for ocean use, conservation initiatives, and the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems.
Further details about the seminar program will be provided after registration. We look forward to sharing this enriching experience with you!
