About the book:
Climate protection and social justice are perceived as being difficult to reconcile. Yet climate protection is particularly successful if it is designed in a socially just way - this is the thesis of the contributions in this volume. The contributors examine the principles and strategies for socially just climate protection and present the results of their research projects at the University of Hamburg. They use a variety of methods such as systematic literature research, interviews, group discussions, document analyses, online surveys and secondary evaluations of large representative data sets. Specific examples are used to show how climate protection and social justice are linked and what information can be gained from this research for the practical implementation of climate protection measures. It deals with ideas of justice, climate movements and trade unions, law and politics, as well as the areas of education, nutrition, housing and mobility.
